Vellore Sight Seeing

Vellore

Vellore had big political importance in the ancient time; the location was a key center for most of the Kingdoms in Tamilnadu. Pallava, Chola, Nayak, Maratha, Arcot Nawabs and Bijapur Sultan Kindoms found their seat in the best and strongest fortress here.

Vellore Fort

This is an architectural wonder with round towers and rectangular projections. Hewn kangaroo stones of rectangular shapes were used as building material and the work of European engineers.

Sripuram Vellore Golden Temple

Gold covered interior and exterior of Vimanam and Ardha Mandapam is the main attraction here. This is a 20 hectares of architectural wonder and can consider as a spiritual park at the foot of a small range of green hills at a place called Malaikodi in the city of Vellore.
